Obituary for James White
Reflection of a Blessed Life
James White was born, January 7th, 1935 to the union of Will White and Katie (Edwards) White in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his wife Katherine L. (Strickland) White, sisters, Dempsey Percy White, Ora Lee Edwards, brothers, George White and Nathaniel White. He departed this life on October 10, 2016.
James received his education from Central High School (CTC). He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seaman. James was a hard worker and took care of his whole family. He retired from the H.B. Fuller Company after 35 years of service.
James (Daddy) was a family man's man. He was full of love but had a stern demeanor. He was a man of few words, quiet and content. He would always give great advice and repeat phrases such as "Good Night", "I keep telling you", "You'd Better Listen" and "Go to school, get that education and do what you want to do." He was a man of his word. He was honest, a provider and a protector. James (Daddy) loved Jazz, wrestling, Western movies and was well known as the "Barbeque Grill Master."
James leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Madeline Crawford, Stephanie Collins (Jack), step children, Gwendolyn Starks, Lymon Gaines Jr. (Wanda), and Ronald Gaines, his grandchildren, Deirdra, Marc (Sarah), Lisa, Leslie, Brian, Ronald Jr., Loren, Brijin, Lavon, Cedric, Raynise, Maurisha, LaGena (Jesse) and Kelvin, forty plus great grandchildren, seven plus great great grandchildren, nephew Tyrone, niece Barbara Ann (Detroit), great niece Kim, cousins, Mary, Bootsy, dear great friend, Ms. Ella Fain, and a host of family and friends.
James will truly be missed by family and friends. He left great memories and a legacy for everyone to be proud of. He is resting peacefully and respectfully. He lived a blessed life and fought the good fight. He will forever be in our hearts and remembered for all the good he brought into this world. May the Lord bless and keep him, forever more.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Monday, October 17, 2016, at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel- Walnut Hills, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
